1. Information We Collect
NoteTaking operates on a local-first principle. All your notes, tags, folders, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Android Room database. We do not collect or store your note content on our servers.
1.1 Optional Data Collection
The only data that may leave your device is:
- Google Drive Sync: If enabled, encrypted note data is synced to your personal Google Drive app data folder.
- Crash Reports: Anonymous crash reports via Google Play Console (no note content included).
- AdMob Data: Google AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data per Google Privacy Policy.
1.2 Camera Permission
The CAMERA permission is used only when you choose to attach photos to your notes. You can take pictures directly inside the app to insert them into a note.
We do NOT:
- Access your camera without your action
- Record video or images in the background
- Upload photos to any server without your consent
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide and maintain app functionality
- Enable optional cloud backup (Google Drive)
- Improve performance and fix bugs
- Display ads (if enabled)
3. Data Storage & Security
3.1 Local Storage
All notes are stored locally using Room SQLite database. Sensitive data is encrypted using AES-256 via Jetpack Security Crypto.
3.2 Biometric Security
Biometric authentication is handled by Android system APIs. We do not store biometric data.
3.3 Google Drive Backup
If enabled, backups are stored in your personal Google Drive account under app data folder.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell or share your personal data. Only trusted third-party services are used.

5. Your Rights
- Access, edit, delete notes anytime
- Disable cloud sync anytime
- Delete all data by uninstalling the app

6. Children's Privacy
This app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page.

Data Deletion Request
You can delete all app data by uninstalling the app. If Google Drive sync is enabled, you may also delete backup data from your Google Drive account.
